Day 1
ARRIVAL | RECHARGE
Saturday
Arrive at the Vida Nova Retreat Hotel. Enjoy dinner ordered from our menu of fine dining selections, relax at one of the bars, and enjoy a restful night.
Day 2
TABLE MOUNTAIN | AQUARIUM
Sunday
After enjoying a hearty hot breakfast, you will be transported from the Vida Nova Retreat to the Table Mountain Tram, where you will be lifted to the mountaintop. In addition to the spectacular view, you will see interesting birds and the world's smallest elephant relative, the Dassie.
Then, you will be transported to downtown Cape Town, where you will be introduced to the Green Market Square local craft market for souveneirs and handmade Africana, and finally to the Cape Town Aquarium at The Waterfront, before returning to the Hotel for fine dining.
Day 3
CHAPMANS PEAK | CAPE POINT DAY
Monday
After enjoying a hearty breakfast, you will enjoy a full day tour that includes the picturesque Chapman's Peak drive, Cape Point itself, a beach at which you can wade and swim with African penguins, a wine tasting at Groot Constantia, the oldest continuously operating winery in Africa and source of Napoleon Bonaparte's favorite wine, and enjoy watching the sunset from the dining deck at the historic Chapman's Peak Hotel, locally famous for its Portuguese style cousine.
Day 4
WHITE PARTY | GARDEN PARTY
Tuesday
A day to relax and enjoy. Everyone deserves a me day. Relax and enjoy a leisurely day at "home", or let our concierge set you up with any of the dozens of adventures that suits your fancy. Just be back at the hotel by 4:00, to enjoy the WHITE PARTY/GARDEN PARTY, including a specially catered food and champagne experience, with music all of the spirit each of us brings.
Day 5
STELLENBOSCH WINE TOUR | CHEETAH RESCUE SANCTUARY
Wednesday
Stellenbosch is renowned as the Napa Valley of Africa. After a hearty breakfast, you will be transported to Stellenbosch, but first will stop at a Cheetah Rescue Sanctuary, where you can learn about and interact with these marvelous creatures. The you will be brought to the Stellenbosch Wine Tractor, which will let you move between a number of wineries where you can enjoy tastings at your own pace, and return to the Hotel where we would be happy to help you pair any bottle you choose to open with the perfect flavors during your dinner at the Hotel.
Day 6
ROBBEN ISLAND | GOLD AFRICA EXPERIENCE
Thursday
A day to be inspired! The father of modern South Africa is Nelson Mandela, who was a political prisoner at Robben Island (the Alcatraz of Table Bay) by the Apartheid government for 26 years. Now a museum honoring him among others, a tour will be arranged during which you will be guided by someone who was there. On your boat ride across Table Bay, you are likely to see whales, dolphins, and seals.
Afterward, you will have some free time at The Waterfront mall complex, and then be brought to dinner at the Gold restaurant, to enjoy some very African finely prepared food, and be entertained by their skilled and very authentic performers.
Day 7
FARWELL BRAAI
Friday
Relax and enjoy a free day at the Hotel, or let our concierge set you up for the adventure of your choice. Before the sun sets, the fires will be sparked, and you will be treated to an authentic Afrikaans Braai (the name for the local barbecue/grill tradition), where aged steaks, Karoo lamb, peri-peri chicken, and other delicacies will be prepared for you as you watch our chefs at work.
Day 8
DEPARTURE
Saturday
A good day to sleep in and relax as you prepare for your flight home, or move one to continue your vacation at one of our other venues. Make sure our concierge knows what time you fly, so timely transportation can be arranged.
