Itinerary
Day 1
ARRIVAL IN CAPE TOWN
April 21st, 2025
Relax and refresh after your long flight at the Vida Nova Retreat, with open dining including wine at our Green Orchid restaurant. Sleep off jet lag, or enjoy our heated pool, gardens, and other facilities.
Day 2
DISCOVER CAPE TOWN
April 22nd, 2025
Begin your day atop Cape Town's iconic Table Mountain, where breathtaking views await. Enjoy the unique craft shopping opportunities Green Market Square or the traditional clothing shops on Long Street. Then enjoy contemporary art at the Zeitz Museum docented by a local artist. Conclude by discovering Africa's association with Portuguese culinary traditions paired with fine South African Port styled wines.
Day 3
STELLENBOSCH WINERY TOUR
April 23rd, 2025
Known as South Africa's Napa Valley, Stellenbosch began producing fine wine many decades before the first vine was planted in California. You will be taken in an air conditioned bus to enjoy a series of wine tastings at storied ancient vinyards and precocious contemporary vintners, with a visit to a Cheetah Rescue reserve where you can interact with these magnificent creatures. Your day will be completed with a visit to the town of Stellenbosch and dinner at one of its world famous restaurants before being returned to the Vida Nova Retreat.
Day 4
Discover the Cape of Good Hope
April 24th, 2025
Like the great Portuguese navigator Bartolemew Diaz, you will never forget discovering where the Indian Ocean meets the Atlantic. Your air conditioned bus tour begins by traveling along the scenic coastal Chapman's Peak highway to the Misty Cliffs, then continue to Cape Point itself, where you will by taken a short walk from the gateway to the Orient - Cape Point itself. On your return along the Eastern side of the Cape, you will have the opportunity to walk on Boulders Beach with African Penguins, and then enjoy a wine tasting at Groot Constancia, the oldest vinyard south of the Sahara. Dinner will be at the Gold restaurant, where a theatrical dining experience beautifully blends sound and taste, making for a memorable culinary adventure.
Day 5
ADVENTURE DAY / Free Day
April 25th, 2025
Curate your own adventure with the assistance of our knowledgeable concierge, who will help you plan your ideal Cape Town experience. Once you've explored all that the city has to offer, return to Vida Nova Retreat for an authentic Garden Party Braai (cooked over fire), accompanied by live music and a selection of unique wines.
Day 6
FRANSCHHOEK WINE TRAM TOUR
April 26th, 2025
Enjoy the Franschhoek Wine Tram, a unique scenic journey through South Africa's second famous wine valley. After returning to the Vida Nova Retreat for a time of relaxation, you will finish your day with a five course meal at Tinswalo on Haut Bay, where you will enjoy a sunset at this incredibly beautiful location at the foot of the cliffs.
Day 7
TRAVEL DAY TO KRUGER PARK
April 27th, 2025
In the morning, you will fly to Kruger/Nilspruit Airport, where you will be transprted to your Villa accommodation in Marloth Park - on the Crocodile River overlooking Kruger Game Park. Once you've settled into your accommodations, take a walk along the river and enjoy the hippo herd in the river, and the animals coming down from the park to enjoy the river. Our chef will then delight you with a braai featuring game and other fire cooked foods cooked and served in the Afrikaans tradition.
Day 8
Kruger Park Safari
April 28th, 2025
Before dawn, your first Safari at Kruger National Park, begins. You will spend the day in an air conditioned bus under the service of any experienced driver/guide, who will show you the beauty of Kruger Game Park while finding Big Five and other game and birds for your viewing pleasure. A mid day break at one of Kruger's tourist camps will allow for you to shop for books or souvenirs, and arrange for your own lunch. The safari will continue after lunch, and you will return to your villa before our chef produces another authentic Braai for your enjoyment.
Day 9
Safari and Bush Party
April 29th, 2025
Enjoy sleeping in before being transported to a privately owned game farm, where you will have the opportunity to either tour in game viewing vehicles, or enjoy nature from the ground without concern about dangerous predators. Your day will conclude with a bush party, with fire cooked meats traditionally prepared and served. After the evening bonfire burns down, you will be returned to your Villa in time to be rested for the next morning's safari.
Day 10
Kruger Park Safari II
April 30th, 2025
Experience your final day on safari. This day will follow the same plan as the first day's Kruger Park safari.
Day 11
Return to Cape Town
May 1st, 2025
In the morning, you will be transported back to Kruger/Nilspruit Airport to fly back to Cape Town to catch your departing flights home. For those person's with late flights, you can return to the Vida Nova Retreat to relax before returning to the airport, or to stay if you wish to extend your time in Africa.
